  • 13 Feb 2026 British trade delegation British Trade Delegation to Libya — with FCDO follow-up in London LBDA led a 13-strong UK delegation to Benghazi — including Lord Duncan McNair, Mark Field, Tristan Peniston-Bird and Peter Meyer — alongside five of our corporate members.
  • 20 Feb 2026 Visit to Vision RTC LBDA visit to Vision RTC — accredited British Council Centre, Benghazi LBDA shows full support for accredited settings that allow the British Council to thrive and deliver to the highest standard.
  • 1 Jun 2026 LBDA press announcement A new chapter in leadership, post FCDO advice Immediately after the trade delegation and the UK FCDO follow-up meeting, LBDA announced a change in its leadership, with Daniel Kawczynski, ex Tory MP, stepping down as Acting Chairman with immediate effect. This comes as the organisation prepares to expand its role in education, banking and finance in Libya's fast-growing economy.
  • 4 Jul 2026 Penultimate ambassador meeting 3/4 Briefing with H.E Martin Reynolds Discussed future guests, planning for forthcoming delegations, and the members' brief. Held ahead of the summer recess, the session set the agenda for the closing meeting in August.
  • 6 Aug 2026 Final ambassador meeting Ambassador's meeting series concludes Involving our members and NHS England to discuss progress of UK commercial efforts for Libya. Closing a series begun in December, the meeting reviewed healthcare, banking and security cooperation, and the routes British expertise can take into Libya's priority sectors.
